LOS ANGELES: Japanese game developer Capcom has officially announced a remake of the popular horror game Resident Evil Code Veronica.

The new version will be called Resident Evil Veronica. The announcement was made during the Summer Game Fest event held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The game is expected to launch in 2027. It is a modern remake of the original title that was first released in 2000. The original game followed siblings Claire Redfield and Chris Redfield. They struggled to survive during a dangerous virus outbreak on a remote prison island in the Southern Ocean. Later, the story moved to a research facility in Antarctica, where the mystery became even more dangerous.

The reveal became one of the biggest highlights of Summer Game Fest.
