Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said that green electric buses have started a new era in the transport sector in the province and their demand from the public is increasing rapidly. In her statement on Saturday, Azma Bokhari said that citizens of different cities are demanding the government to start electric bus service in their areas as well. She said that under the planning of the Punjab government, electric buses will soon be seen running in 147 tehsils of the province. According to the minister, 1100 electric buses are currently operating in different districts of Punjab, providing modern, comfortable and eco-friendly travel facilities to the citizens. Azma Bokhari further said that Punjab is incomparable to any other province in terms of efficiency.
