PPP delegation will meet CEC Sikandar tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will meet the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, here on Monday (tomorrow).

Sources said that all four provinces will be represented in the PPP delegation, which will inform the CEC about the party’s position on general elections and other issues.

Senator Taj Haider, Saeed Ghani, Nasir Hussain Shah, Ziaul Islam Hassan from Sindh will be included in the delegation whereas Qamar Zaman Kaira, Hasan Murtaza, Syed Musa Geelani, Abdul Qadir Shaheen from Punjab; Faisal Karim Kundi, Shuja Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Genghis Khan Jamali, Senator Rozi Khan Kakar from Balochistan will be part of the delegation.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has taken notice on appointments and transfer of commissioners. The ECP has stopped the Chief Secretary Sindh from appointing and transferring officials.

The Sindh government had recently transferred the commissioners of the revenue department in various districts.The ECP has directed the CS Sindh to immediately withdraw the transfers.

Senior member of the Department of Services and General Administration sent a letter to the Board of Revenue on the orders of the Election Commission.

The execution of the order regarding the transfer of authorized officers should be stopped, said the Department of Services and General Administration SindhElectoral officers are engaged in election duty cannot be appointed or transferred without prior approval of the Election Commission.
