PM Sharif expresses condolences over demise of Iran President Raisi

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, extended condolences and sympathies to the people of Iran over the death of former President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi. PM Sharif shared the message over his official social media handle, expressing sympathies over loss of Former President Raisi.

While sharing the note over his social media handle, PM Sharif, writes that, “Had been anxiously following developments regarding the reported crash landing of President Raisi’s helicopter. Was hoping for good news. Alas, this was not to be.”

“I along with the government and people of Pakistan extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Iranian nation on this terrible loss. May the martyred souls rest in heavenly peace. The great Iranian nation will overcome this tragedy with customary courage,” says Sharif.

Along with this, PM Sharif, also mentioned about the recent visit of President Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian less than a month ago. Noting to which, he said that, “Pakistan had the pleasure of hosting President Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on a historic visit, less than a month ago. They were good friends of Pakistan.”

“Pakistan will observe a day of mourning and the flag will fly at half mast as a mark of respect for President Raisi and his companions and in solidarity with Brotherly Iran,” says PM Sharif.

It is to be hereby mentioned that, PM Sharif, earlier yesterday, had also shared tweet following the news of helicopter crash came out in public. In that tweet, PM Sharif, wished wellness for President Raisi.

Adding which he stated that, “Heard the distressing news from Iran regarding Hon. President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi’s helicopter. Waiting with great anxiety for good news that all is well. Our prayers and best wishes are with President Raisi and the entire Iranian nation.”

Notably, the former President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi was killed in an helicopter crash in the East province of Azerbaijan on Sunday. The helicopter carrying President of Iran, Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had disappeared over a mountainous region.
