Pakistan Army Deployment Approved in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Muhammad Faizan Aslam Khan: The federal government has approved the deployment of Pakistan Army troops in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to assist the civil administration in maintaining law and order and protecting citizens, public property and government installations.

Under an official notification, the deployment has been authorised under Article 245 of the Constitution for the period covered by the proclamation issued on October 11, 2026, under Articles 232 and 234.

The army will support the provincial civil administration in maintaining peace and ensuring the security of residents and public installations, according to the notification.

The governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in consultation with the Directorate General of Military Operations at General Headquarters (GHQ), will determine the number of troops and resources to be deployed in the province.

The notification will be published in the Gazette of Pakistan, Part II.
