No Summer Camps in Punjab Schools this year as per new restrictions – Pakistan Observer

LAHORE – The government in Punjab has banned all government and private schools from holding summer camps during vacations this year.

Amid the scorching heat in the region, Punjab School Education Department imposed complete ban on summer school camps in all public and private schools until further notice.

Punjab SED clarified that no permissions were granted as some private schools claimed receiving permission to hold summer camps for the students during summer break.

Officials emphasized that no private school is permitted to conduct a summer camp without official approval and a formal departmental notification.

In a similar update, Lahore District Education Authority directed principals to stay at their schools until 2 pm during the summer vacation to manage records of furniture, and for other duties.

Those who are serving in grade four have been directed to fulfill their duties until 1:30 pm as DAE announces new restrictions.

Amid heatwaves, all public and private schools in Punjab were closed from May 25. According to a provincial government notification, educational institutions will remain closed until May 31. With these seven additional holidays, students started summer holidays a week earlier.
