ISLAMABAD: Coordinator of the National Peace Message Committee, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, along with prominent religious scholars and spiritual leaders, strongly condemned the Tarlai tragedy during a press conference in Islamabad, reiterating the nation’s collective resolve for peace and unity.
Addressing the media, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said that the very purpose of establishing the National Peace Message Committee is to promote peace and harmony across Pakistan.
He informed that committee members, along with scholars from different schools of thought, visited PIMS Hospital to inquire after the injured.
He described the moment as deeply emotional, saying it was the first time in his life that representatives of all religions visited injured victims together, with tears in their eyes, reflecting national solidarity in the face of tragedy.
“No force can divide us at any level,” Ashrafi stated, adding that when brutality showed its ugly face, a large number of citizens rushed to hospitals to donate blood, proving the strength and compassion of Pakistani society.
Strongly condemning the attack, he said those who targeted worshippers while they were in prostration deserve nothing but hell. He emphasized that under Paigham-e-Pakistan, all religious scholars and clerics have unanimously issued a fatwa declaring attacks on places of worship as acts against Islam.
Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi concluded by reaffirming that terrorism has no religion and that Pakistan’s religious leadership stands united against extremism, violence, and hatred.
