More monsoon rains, gusty winds expected in Lahore, parts of Punjab – Pakistan Observer

LAHORE – More monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Wednesday night, Thursday, and Friday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave affects the upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, more monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Mianwali on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday. Isolated heavy falls are also expected during the period.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Thursday and 35-37°C on Friday.

Meanwhile, rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls occurred in Lahore, Pothohar region, and upper Punjab during the last 24 hours, Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Maximum temperature in Dera Ghazi Khan was recorded at 42°C, and Sahiwal and Multan at 41°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 77 percent.
