Miley Cyrus, 32, opened up about her relationship with 26-year-old boyfriend Maxx Morando in a new Harper’s Bazaar cover story interview published on Nov. 20. While a six-year age gap isn’t unusual in relationships, the pop superstar shared how she feels dating someone from Generation Z and how it positively impacts their dynamic.
“He looks at life differently than I do,” she told the outlet. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters.”
Growing up with more direct internet access than Cyrus, Morando approaches problem-solving in a slightly different way.
“Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit,” said the Grammy winner. “I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit, it says blah, blah, blah.’”
Beyond their age-based differences, Cyrus shared that of Liily drummer Morando, “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.”
In the Harper’s Bazaar interview, the “Flowers” singer revealed she is preparing to release a new visual album, currently titled *Something Beautiful*, which features contributions from Morando.
Cyrus explained how she’s always been drawn to make music with those close to her. “I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other,” she said.
“I’ve always worked with the people that I love,” she continued. “And Maxx just inspires me so much.”
The pair have been romantically linked since December 2021, with Morando co-writing and producing the song “Handstand” from Cyrus’ 2023 album, “Endless Summer Vacation”.
Cyrus teased her next album “Harper’s Bazaar”, describing it as “hypnotizing and glamorous.” She explained, “It’s a concept album that attempts to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.”
