GULF BREEZE, Fla., Oct. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mediacom Communications today announced that service has been restored to approximately 70% of customers who lost connectivity following Hurricane Isaias, which brought severe weather to the Florida Panhandle, Alabama, and surrounding areas.
“Our network assessments are now complete, and most of our main hub connections have been tested and are ready to support service once power returns,” said Elena Kilpatrick, Mediacom’s Senior Vice President of the Coastal Region. “However, damage to lines and equipment serving individual neighborhoods, streets, and homes may still require repairs. Some customers may remain without service after their power is restored while our crews complete those local repairs.”
Mediacom teams remain focused on restoring service to those still affected as quickly and safely as possible. In the remaining impacted areas of Alabama and Florida, downed trees, extensive damage, and ongoing power outages continue to make access and repairs challenging. Crews are coordinating closely with electric utilities, moving into affected areas to complete repairs as power is restored and conditions are safe.
Residents in areas impacted by Hurricane Isaias are urged to exercise extreme caution and never touch or approach downed power lines or other damaged utility equipment. Downed lines may remain energized and pose a serious risk of electric shock or electrocution. Keep a safe distance from fallen lines and report them immediately to local utility providers or emergency services.
