Light rain, snowfall likely in upper parts of Pakistan
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted varying intensity rainfall, along with snowfall over the mountains, for the upper parts of Pakistan on Thursday night and Friday.
According to the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave is prevailing over the upper regions of Pakistan and is expected to persist for the next 24 hours.
Under these conditions, partly cloudy weather with light rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over the hills, are expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas on Thursday night. Cold and dry weather is anticipated elsewhere in the country.

On Friday, cold and dry weather is anticipated in most parts of the country, with freezing temperatures in northern parts. Partly cloudy weather with light rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over the hills, is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and adjoining hilly areas.
In Islamabad, minimum temperatures are expected to range between 05-07 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts, with freezing conditions in northern areas of the country during the last 24 hours. Rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills were reported in Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Leh remained the coldest place in the province where temperature dropped 09 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 83 per cent.
