LAHORE – Lahore has once again topped the list of the world’s most polluted cities, while Karachi ranked fourth, according to the latest data released by global air quality monitoring organization IQAir.
As per the report issued on Friday, Lahore recorded the highest Air Quality Index (AQI) of 312, followed by India’s capital New Delhi at 206, Kolkata at 174, and Karachi at 173 around 9:30am.
According to the Punjab Air Quality Index, Chak Jhumra recorded the worst air quality in the province with an alarming AQI of 664, followed by Faisalabad (579), Raiwind (470), Kasur (439) and Pattoki (362).

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has continued the use of anti-smog guns in various areas in an effort to curb rising air pollution and improve air quality.
