Lahore, Punjab weather update; rains, gusty winds expected – Pakistan Observer

LAHORE – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Wednesday evening/night, Thursday and Friday.

Per Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating upper/central parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also prevails over upper/central parts.

Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Kasur, Lahore, Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot and Narowal on Wednesday evening/night and the following two days. Windstorm/thunderstorm-rains with isolated heavy falls are also expected in Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Taunsa, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur during evening/night.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 43-45°C on Thursday and 42-44°C on Friday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places of the province.

Noorpur Thal remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. Maximum temperature in Bhakkar and Sargodha was recorded at 47°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 03 per cent.
