Karachi shivers at 9.3°C coldest night of the year

Fog, dry weather and severe cold expected across regions

Karachi: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), cold conditions continue to dominate much of the country, while Karachi has recorded its lowest temperature of the year so far.

The port city witnessed its coldest night of the season, with the minimum temperature falling to 9.3°C, and the perceived temperature dropping to between 5°C and 8°C in several localities.


Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 20°C to 22°C. Chilly winds from Quetta remain active, with northeasterly airflow reaching 20–22 km/h.


The PMD reports no chance of rainfall in the coming week, while skies are likely to stay clear today.

Countrywide Weather Outlook

Cold and dry conditions are expected across most parts of Pakistan.

Severe chill will continue in mountainous areas, while moderate to dense fog may occur over the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Light morning fog is possible at a few locations in the Potohar region and Kashmir.

Islamabad and surrounding areas are likely to remain cool and dry, whereas most districts of Balochistan will experience chilly weather, with extreme cold in the northern parts.
