QUETTA: Former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has entered the fray to dispute the ongoing wheat scandal’s narrative, dismissing it as merely a media-driven spectacle. Kakar, renowned for his straightforward approach to politics, has taken a firm stance against what he deems a baseless witchhunt aimed at his administration.
Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi and others were also present on the occasion.
In an exclusive conversation with this correspondent, Kakar emphatically rejected the notion of the wheat scandal as a significant issue, instead labeling it as a byproduct of media sensationalism and political mudslinging. “There hasn’t been any healthy discussion on this matter,” Kakar voiced, expressing his dismay at the lack of substantive discourse surrounding the allegations.
In a daring rebuttal to the accusations directed at him, Kakar called into question their validity and highlighted the absence of concrete evidence to support the claims. “On one hand, accusations were hurled at us, while on the other, a legitimate activity was wrongly portrayed as illegal,” Kakar observed, stressing the necessity for a more nuanced interpretation of the situation.
Additionally, Kakar pointed out the dearth of genuine examination into the profit margins and price ranges associated with the purported misconduct, stressing the importance of approaching the issue with logic and discernment. “Could one feasibly earn Rs. 85 billion in just six months?” Kakar challenged, urging the public to critically evaluate the veracity of such assertions.
In the midst of the media frenzy surrounding the scandal, Kakar remained resolute in his belief that the issue has been blown out of proportion. “I am being unjustly criticized,” he lamented, condemning what he perceives as a deliberate attempt to besmirch his reputation and undermine his legacy.
In a final retort to his detractors, Kakar dismissed reports suggesting his disregard for the significance of Form 47, unequivocally rejecting such allegations as “baseless.” With his fervent defense, Kakar has emerged as a voice of reason amidst the chaos, challenging the prevailing narrative and demanding accountability from those responsible for perpetuating what he views as a media-driven smear campaign.
