Israr Khan Kakar, a trailblazing student from Balochistan, Pakistan, has etched his name in the storied halls of Oxford University. In a historic achievement, Kakar secured the Oxford Union Presidency, following in the footsteps of two distinguished predecessors: the late Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and a survivor of the APS school Peshawar tragedy.
Kakar’s journey to the presidency was marked by resilience, determination, and a commitment to change. Hailing from Gulistan, a frontier town straddling tribal disputes and social norms, he defied all odds. His campaign resonated with themes of inclusivity, diversity, and breaking down institutional barriers.
As an APS survivor himself, Kakar carried the weight of tragedy and hope.
