The synoptic situation indicates the dominance of continental air across the country. Consequently, Wednesday evening/night, Thursday, and Friday are expected to witness predominantly cold and dry weather, with freezing temperatures likely in the upper regions.
In Islamabad, minimum temperatures are forecast to range between 04–06 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 05–07 degrees Celsius on Friday. Similarly, Rawalpindi is expected to experience minimum temperatures ranging from 06–08 degrees Celsius on Thursday to 07–09 degrees Celsius on Friday.
During the past 24 hours, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and most parts of Pakistan experienced cold and partly cloudy weather, with freezing conditions prevailing in the upper regions. Rainfall occurred in Karachi and isolated areas of Balochistan.
Leh registered as the coldest location in the country, with temperatures plummeting 10 degrees Celsius below freezing.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 85 percent during the morning. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi recorded a minimum temperature of 06 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity of 68 percent during the morning.
