Islamabad, Pakistan weather update; more monsoon rains, gusty winds likely – Pakistan Observer

ISLAMABAD – Monsoon rains and gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate eastern and upper parts of Pakistan. A trough of westerly wave prevails over northern parts of the country.

Under these conditions, monsoon rains and gusty winds are likely in the twin cities, Balochistan, Upper Sindh, South/Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday night. Heavy falls are likely at isolated places in Northeast Punjab, Potohar Region, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.

On Wednesday, more intermittent rains and gusty winds are likely in the twin cities, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast/South Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy falls are likely at isolated places in Northeast Punjab, Potohar Region, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 32-34°C on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 31-33°C on Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at a few places in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeast/south Punjab, Sindh, south/central Balochistan and Kashmir during the last 24 hours.

Chilas remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Nokkundi and Bunji was recorded at 43°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 73 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 56 per cent.
