Andre Russell, the star all-rounder of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), achieved a milestone of 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League during KKR’s inaugural match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.
Russell played a rapid-fire innings of 64 runs off just 25 balls, hitting seven sixes, which contributed to KKR’s total of 208 in 20 overs.
He made IPL history by becoming the fastest player to hit 200 sixes in terms of balls faced. The 35-year-old accomplished this feat in 1322 balls, significantly faster than his nearest competitor who took 1811 balls. Kieron Pollard is third on this list, having reached the milestone in 2055 balls.
In addition, Russell became the ninth player in IPL history to hit 200 sixes. The list is topped by Chris Gayle, who is the only player to have hit more than 350 sixes.
