Actress Humaira Asghar (Late)
Karachi: Authorities have uncovered significant new details in the investigation surrounding the death of renowned Pakistani actor and model Humaira Asghar.
The actress’s decomposed body was discovered on July 8 in a flat in Ittehad Commercial, Defence, following a court bailiff’s entry prompted by a landlord’s complaint about unpaid rent.
Investigators have noted that documents recovered from the scene indicate all utility bills and rent payments were current through May 2024, raising questions about her sudden disappearance and death.
Evidence suggests that Humaira may have done laundry shortly before her death, as clothes were found both in a bathroom tub and near a washing area. Her body was located in a room adjacent to the bedroom, with the balcony door open—possibly indicating an attempt to ventilate or escape. The main door of the flat was found locked from inside with a double lock.
Neighbours had reported a foul smell emanating from the apartment as early as December 2024, and forensic experts believe her death likely occurred around October 7, 2024. The exact cause remains undetermined pending chemical and medical reports.
On the day of her suspected death, Humaira contacted 14 individuals via mobile phones. Authorities recovered three mobile phones, a tablet, a diary, and various documents from the flat. All three SIM cards registered to her were active in the devices, with two phones lacking password protection, enabling easier access for forensic analysis.
Digital forensics revealed over 2,000 contacts stored across her devices, with consistent communication with at least 75 phone numbers over an extended period, hinting at complex personal or professional connections.
