Ex-Pakistan coach, Waqar Younis, has shared his thoughts on the highly anticipated match today between Pakistan and India at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York.

After Pakistan’s initial loss to the USA, the team, known as the Green Shirts, is ready to take on India today.

On the other hand, the Indian team has been performing well since the start of the tournament, having defeated Ireland by eight wickets on Wednesday (June 5).

“My heart says PakistanMoreover, the former right-arm fast bowler thinks that the pitch conditions will result in a balanced match. but from what I’ve seen so far in this tournament the pitch in New York is very much for the faster bowlers. So, it evens t iout a little bit just purely because of the surface in New York,” he stated.

Wasim Akram, also known as the Sultan of Swing, expressed that India seems to be the stronger team with a 60% chance of victory against Pakistan. However, he pointed out that in the T20 World Cup, the results can change rapidly.

“If we look at India’s form, India generally are a better team. Better team in a way that they’re favourites heading into that game. I will give 60% to India and 40% to Pakistan. But, it’s T20I, one good innings, one good spell, the game can change quickly. I think everybody is looking forward to the game of the tournament,” he commented.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has promised to address the concerns about the pitch at the NY stadium following criticism.

“T20 Inc and the ICC recognise that the pitches used so far at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium have not played as consistently as we would have all wanted,” the ICC declared in a statement.

“The world-class grounds team have been working hard since the conclusion of yesterday’s game to remedy the situation and deliver the best possible surfaces for the remaining matches.”

and India have faced each other seven In the T20 World Cups, Pakistan  times, h India winwitning five matches and Pakistan winning only one match in 2021. The remaining T20I ended in a draw.
