India is not a democratic but a colonial state: APHC – Pakistan Observer

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has lambasted India for its violent and colonial behavior, saying the country is not a democratic but a colonial state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, on the International Day in Support of Victims of Violence, Hurriyat leaders Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, Fayaz Hussain Jafri, Farida Behji, Yasmin Raja, Sibt Shabbir Qummi, Maulan Musaib Nadvi, Hafza Bano and others gathered in Srinagar to condemn India’s atrocities in the occupied territory.

The leaders stated that India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the will of the Kashmiris and is inflicting unimaginable suffering on them for demanding freedom.

The leaders criticized the Modi government for revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, which accelerated atrocities and stripped Kashmiris of their political, economic, social, and religious rights. They said India is carrying out brutal operations, making life miserable for Kashmiris, and denying them their right to self-determination.

The Hurriyat leaders urged the international community to recognize India’s true nature as a colonial state and not a democracy, and to support Kashmiris in their struggle for the right to self-determination.—KMS
