FM Dar to skip UNGA session due to high level diplomatic engagements – Pakistan Observer

ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will not proceed to New York for the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that he would not proceed to New York due to some important upcoming diplomatic engagements and the ongoing preparations for the 23rd Meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

However, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s programme for participation in the UNGA Session remains unchanged.

The latest reports said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the General Assembly of the United Nations. The PM would reach the US on September 23.

“Shehbaz Sharif has left for London where he will stay for two days,” said the sources. FM Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and others are also present there.
