The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone has carried out a major operation and arrested a highly wanted human smuggler involved in the Greece boat tragedy.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the suspect, SaqibJajja, ringleader of the notorious “KhurramJajja Gang,” was apprehended. He was listed in the FIA Red Book as an extremely wanted human trafficker and was wanted in 14 cases related to the Greece boat incident.
Authorities stated that the accused had illegally sent 14 Pakistani nationals to Greece via Libya. As a result of the tragic incident, five precious lives were lost, five victims were deported, and four individuals survived after enduring severe hardship.
The suspect reportedly remained in hiding in Iran for a year to evade arrest. Upon returning to Pakistan, he attempted to secure pre-arrest bail through false pretenses. However, the FIA succeeded in having his bail petition dismissed by the High Court, leading to his arrest.
Director FIA Muhammad Bin Ashraf conveyed a clear message that human smugglers who endanger innocent lives deserve no leniency and will be brought to justice
