LAHORE – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday announced a by-election for the Senate general seat vacated following the passing of Senator Irfan Siddiqui.
The Punjab Election Commissioner’s spokesperson said that the candidates could submit their nomination papers at the Returning Officer’s office from December 4 to December 5, 2025.
The list of nominated candidates would be published on December 6, 2025.
The scrutiny of nomination papers would be completed by December 8, 2025 while the appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nominations could be filed until December 10, 2025.
The final decisions on appeals would be issued by December 12, 2025, and the revised list of candidates will be released on December 13, 2025.
The candidates could withdraw their nominations until December 15, 2025. The polling would be held on December 24, 2025, from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Punjab Provincial Assembly.
The nomination papers could be submitted at the Returning Officer’s office, located at 10 Court Street, Lahore, between December 4 and December 5, 2025.
