ISLAMABAD: The Director General of Hajj is still in office even after the completion of his term.
The Secretary of Religious Affairs responded to the Standing Committee on Religious Affairs’ request for an update on the status of the new appointment of the Director General (DG) of Hajj by stating that 36 candidates had passed the eligibility stage and that a panel made up of three of them had been sent to the Prime Minister.
The committee expressed concerns about the Director General (Hajj), Jeddah’s inability to show up, pointing out that he had been called upon several times but had not shown up.
The committee asked for an explanation for the Director General of Hajj’s ongoing absence.
The Director General (DG) of Hajj was unable to travel to Pakistan because of austerity measures and restrictions on foreign travel, according to the Secretary of Religious Affairs.
The Secretary of Religious Affairs stated that the Director General (DG) of Hajj could not travel to Pakistan due to austerity measures and restrictions on foreign travel; in response, Senator Nasir Mahmood directed that documentary evidence regarding the cancellation of the DG Hajj’s air ticket be provided to the committee.
Senator Nasir Mahmood responded by ordering the committee to receive documentary proof of the DG Hajj’s airline ticket cancelation.
