David Foster and Meghan Markle’s friendship reportedly turns ‘Icy’

The development comes amid reports of tension between Foster and Meghan at his 40th anniversary foundation gala in Canada.

LONDON: Politics has reportedly created tension in one of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s long-standing Hollywood friendships, with royal commentator Rob Shuter claiming that the couple’s relationship with musician David Foster has become less warm.

The development comes amid reports of tension between Foster and Meghan at his 40th anniversary foundation gala in Canada.

“David and Meghan have been close for years, so people noticed,” a source told Shuter. “There is definitely an icy feeling there now, and politics is part of it.”

Another insider said Harry did not appear particularly interested in politics, while Meghan was more politically engaged and Foster had moved in a different direction.

“They’re not enemies,” the source said. “But the warmth isn’t what it used to be.”

Shuter said that in Hollywood, changes in relationships often attract attention, particularly when the people involved have longstanding connections.

Foster has continued to publicly support Harry and Meghan as speculation grew around a viral video clip from a recent event.

The footage appeared to show Foster acknowledging Harry while seemingly walking past Meghan as she reached out to greet him.

The exchange was quickly interpreted by some social media users as a snub, although others said the moment could have been innocent and did not necessarily indicate tension between them.

Foster and his wife, singer Katharine McPhee, also hosted a fundraiser at their Brentwood home in May for Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt.

The reports of tension between Foster and Meghan have not been independently confirmed, and the viral video alone does not establish a falling-out between the two.
