Cardi B Sued for Alleged Battery by woman after throwing microphone off stage at 2023 performance

Rapper and singer Cardi B is facing a lawsuit stemming from an incident at a Las Vegas nightclub earlier this year. The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe from Ohio, alleges that Cardi B threw a microphone at her during a performance at Drai’s Beachclub on July 29, 2023, resulting in physical and emotional harm.

According to court documents filed in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, the incident occurred amid what was described as “visibly high-temperature conditions” on stage.

The lawsuit states that Cardi, 32, was holding a microphone and publicly encouraged the audience to splash water on her, making gestures and statements that appeared to authorize such behavior.

Jane Doe claims she responded to the water splashes by slapping her own posterior after liquids were thrown or poured onto her during the performance. The complaint alleges that Cardi B demonstrated her consent to the water activity by pouring water over herself and that her reactions escalated the situation.

Legal filings describe Cardi B’s actions as “excessive” and assert that they took place in a public setting, causing emotional distress to the plaintiff. The singer is now being sued for assault, battery, and negligence.

As of now, Cardi B has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.
