KARACHI – Mega Motor Company (MMC), the official partner of BYD in Pakistan, has officially partnered with the Karachi Marathon 2026, marking the country’s first collaboration with a World Athletics–Certified marathon.
The signing ceremony took place at BYD Pakistan’s Karachi Experience Center, attended by senior leadership from MMC, BYD, and the Karachi Marathon organizing committee. Cricket legend Misbah-ul-Haq also joined as a special guest, celebrating the spirit of endurance, discipline, and national pride central to the marathon.
Under the partnership, MMC will support the marathon through brand visibility, athlete sponsorship, and mobility-focused initiatives aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s profile in global running and sports. The BYD SHARK 6 will serve as the official “timer car,” leading runners from the start line and symbolizing innovation, smart mobility, and precise timing.
The Karachi Marathon 2026, Pakistan’s largest international race event, will feature both local and international runners. The event is part of Vision 2032, an initiative designed to prepare Pakistani athletes for major global marathons and the Olympics.
Speaking at the ceremony, Danish Khaliq, Vice President Sales & Strategy at MMC, said, “Our mission at MMC goes beyond mobility; it is about promoting sustainable lifestyles and strengthening communities. Leading up to the marathon, BYD|MMC will collaborate with the Karachi Marathon team on promotional campaigns.
