SEOUL: K-Pop superstar, BTS member Jungkook is turning 29 on Sept. 1 this year, and his birthday is already lighting up cities around the world as millions of fans celebrate the singer with dazzling billboards, LED trucks, drone shows and special tributes.
Jungkook known for his powerful performances, distinctive voice and global appeal, Jungkook has once again become the center of worldwide attention as ARMY, BTS devoted fan base, prepares to celebrate another milestone in the singer’s life.
This year’s birthday celebrations are reaching major cities across Asia, Europe and the United States. Jungkook China is organizing large-scale birthday advertisements in 11 Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Harbin as full project features 26 pillars with 52 display sides, alongside a MEGA screen advertisement across Myeong-dong’s main street for Jungkook’s birthday.
Myeong-dong is one of Seoul’s best-known shopping and tourism districts, described by Seoul’s official tourism guide as a major hub for commerce and culture.
The fan group is also taking over the massive TSX live billboard in New York’s Times Square, where birthday advertisements are scheduled to appear 576 times.
The celebrations are also spreading across Los Angeles, where Jungkook will spend his birthday performing with BTS at SoFi Stadium as part of the group’s “ARIRANG” World Tour.
Thousands of yellow stickers are being distributed so concertgoers can cover their phone flashlights and create a golden light display inside the stadium. Fan-organized plans also include tens of thousands of birthday banners and party hats.
Additional birthday advertisements are planned on billboards and bus shelters across Los Angeles. The birthday wave is not limited to the United States. Fans in South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Hungary, Russia, Kazakhstan and India are also organizing outdoor advertisements and other projects.
Adding another headline to the celebration, Jungkook was recently named “Most Handsome Man Alive 2026” by Netizens Choice Magazine after reportedly receiving more than 31 million votes in its global poll.
From giant screens to glowing stadium lights, Jungkook’s 29th birthday is becoming a global fan spectacle, showing once again how strongly the BTS star connects with audiences around the world.
