QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan on Wednesday said the provincial government was trying hard for a respectable and dignified repatriation of all illegal immigrants. He expressed these views while chairing a high-level meeting, which reviewed the pace of repatriation of illegal immigrants.
Stressing the exemplary nature of the province’s approach, Khan revealed that, post the October 31 deadline, the focus remains on ensuring the secure and dignified exit of illegal immigrants from Pakistan.

CS Outline Establishment of Well-Equipped Transit Camps
The chief secretary outlined the establishment of well-equipped transit camps across districts to temporarily accommodate those awaiting repatriation. He particularly emphasized the dignified return of Afghan nationals to Afghanistan, with daily repatriations observed at Chaman, Badini, and Barapcha borders.
Providing an update, the Additional Chief Secretary Home, Zahid Saleem informed that over 136,000 illegal residents have returned to their respective countries from Balochistan thus far. Khan urged the improvement of Chaman, Badini, and Barapcha crossings to bolster future trade prospects, fostering positive impacts on employment opportunities and the economy.

Discussing government support, CS Balochistan mentioned a federal decision to provide a package for toy businesses adversely affected by the repatriation efforts. The meeting also addressed passport-related matters, with the chief secretary acknowledging the need for enhanced efficiency in the passport office to expedite the passport issuance process.
The chief secretary emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in both repatriation procedures and administrative processes, underscoring the commitment to a seamless and respectful transition for all those returning to their home countries.
