Balochistan: Protests Over Alleged Election Rigging and Result Delay

News Desk:

Political and religious parties in Balochistan have launched a widespread protest against alleged election rigging, changes in election results, and delays in the electoral process. The protests have resulted in the blockage of highways and the implementation of a shutter-down strike in various cities across the province.

Major thoroughfares such as the Quetta-Chaman Highway in Loralai, Quetta-Dera Ghazi Khan Road, Quetta-Sibimuch Road, Kolpur, Ketch Turbat Road, and Zero Point in Gwadar have been closed off, disrupting transportation and causing inconvenience to travellers.

In Quetta, the capital city, key intersections including the Eastern Bypass, Western Bypass, Imdad Chowk, Gwalmandi Chowk, GPO Chowk, Spini Road, and Brewery Road have been blocked by demonstrators representing different political and religious groups.

Additionally, protesters in Chaman stopped a passenger train, adding to the disruptions in transportation services.

Despite calls for restraint, protest rallies and demonstrations continue unabated as political and religious parties express their discontent with the electoral process. The situation remains tense as authorities grapple with finding a resolution to the grievances voiced by the protesters.
