News Desk: Inspector General of Prisons Balochistan, Captain (Retd.) Abdul Saeed Naveed, carried out an extensive inspection of Central Jail Zhob and District Jail Loralai, directing authorities to tighten security, eliminate illegal activities, and improve inmate welfare.
During his visit to Central Jail Zhob, accompanied by DIG East Loralai Abdullah Khan Kakar and senior officials, the IG reviewed security protocols and administrative operations. He inspected barracks, kitchens, medical units, and sanitation conditions, expressing concern over any gaps in discipline and facility management.
Issuing strict orders, he made it clear that the use of drugs and mobile phones prisons will not be tolerated. He warned of immediate inquiries and tough disciplinary action against staff found facilitating or ignoring such violations.
Focusing on prisoner welfare, the IG stressed the need to ensure better living conditions, standard food, healthcare, education, and hygiene. He also met inmates, heard their grievances, and directed officials to resolve issues promptly, emphasizing humane treatment and rehabilitation in line with the law.
In meetings with jail staff, he urged officials to uphold professionalism, integrity, and discipline while performing their duties efficiently.
The IG later visited District Jail Loralai, where he conducted a similar inspection and repeated directives to curb illegal activities and safeguard prisoners’ rights.
He highlighted that Rs330 million has been allocated in the 2026–27 provincial budget for prison repairs and upgrades, stating that the funding will help modernize infrastructure, enhance facilities, and strengthen welfare initiatives across Balochistan’s prisons.
