Balochistan govt forms 4 member commitee to investigate Balaach Bakhsh case

The government of Balochistan has constituted a four member committee to investigate the alleged killing of Balaach Mola Bakhsh in a clash with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Turbat.

Noting to the notification issued by the additionally chief secretary of home and tribal affairs on Wednesday, Fisheries Secretary Imran Gichki will going to lead the committee which also involves the inspector general of Quetta police, deputy commissioner of Kech and Gwadar SSP.

Adding further to the details, the committee that has been formed under Section 3(1) of the Balochistan Tribunal of Inquiry Ordinance 1969, will be probing the CTD’s alleged encounter which lead to the death of Balaach.

Meanwhile, the committee is mandated to complete the inquiry as well as to reveal the motive behind the incident, and submit its report within 15 days.

The coffin of Balaach Maula Bakhsh, was buried in Koh-i-Murad graveyard on Wednesday, after his funeral prayers at Fida Shaheed Chowk that has been attended by over hundreds of people.

Following the burial, another sit-in protest was staged at the Fida Shaheed Chowk, by the family members of Balaach as well as the organizers, in order to continue the protest until the justice is served.

On Nov 24, the CTD said that it had killed four people in an operation. The identified victims included Shakoor Baloch, Saif Baloch, and Balaach Mola Bakhsh.

It is to be hereby added that, the ongoing protest has been already going on from last five to six days. The protest is going on mainly against the extrajudicial killing of Balaach Mola Bakhsh, as no progress was made between the protesters on the site and the authorities.

But following the formation of the committee by the government of Balochistan, it is anticipated that the justice will be delivered to the protesters. Till then, the sit-in protesters have added that, the protest will be going on until and unless the justice is given.
