Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed may be replaced in Pakistan’s team for the Test series against Australia by off-spinner Sajid Khan.
Abrar has complained of soreness in his right leg, so it seems likely that he will miss the first Test, which begins in Perth on December 14.
According to sources, the team management and selectors have decided to include Sajid in the roster despite the Australian squad’s abundance of left-handers.
Given how long it takes to obtain a visa, Sajid is unlikely to be able to visit Australia before the Perth Test. Nonetheless, Sajid is going to Australia if Abrar is declared ineligible for the entire season.
The management of the Pakistani squad is excited to get the MRI results regarding Abrar’s injury. On the third day of the four-day competition against the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra, the pain in his foot became apparent.
The results of the MRI report will determine whether or not to replace it.
