At least eight Killed in truck-pickup collision | The Express Tribune

HYDERABAD:

Eight people lost their lives and 20 others were injured in a collision between a pickup and a dumper truck near Jhirk town of Thatta district on Saturday.

The victims belonged to the same family, Behrani, who were travelling in the pickup to Jamshoro. Victims were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad, where five men were declared dead on arrival while the rest were admitted.

People at the site of the accident shifted three bodies to the local hospitals. Four deceased men were identified as Riad, Irfan, Qurban, and Soomar.

Director Intensive Care Unit Dr. Kashif Memon told the media that the hospital received 20 injured people among whom two were shifted to Karachi for vascular surgery while 14 injured are still under treatment in the hospital, four of them were discharged after first aid. Meanwhile, Thatta police have impounded the truck but the incident’s FIR has not been lodged so far
