Famed Pakistani vocalist Ali Zafar is poised for a victorious comeback as the official anthem singer for the forthcoming ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
This news follows a report by Cricket Pakistan a few days prior, which suggested the potential return of Ali to perform the anthem for the ninth season.
The speculation has now been validated with an official statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The declaration was made on the social media platform ‘X’ (previously known as Twitter), where the PSL franchise league posted a video of the superstar playing the tune of one of his past PSL anthems, “Ab Khel Jamay Ga.”
The caption stated, “Seeti Tou bajay ge. Countdown to [HBL PSL 9] Anthem Excitement! [Ali Zafar] is set to immerse his magic to the official HBL PSL anthem 2024.”

The esteemed superstar also expressed on his social media platform, “Bilkul bajay gi. Aur stage bhee phir se sajjay ga.”

Ali Zafar, who lent his musical prowess to the initial three seasons of the HBL PSL, encountered a professional obstacle in 2018 when co-singer Meesha Shafi leveled harassment allegations against him. The ensuing controversy led to a pause in his career, and he was not selected to perform the PSL anthem thereafter.
However, this season signifies a notable resurgence for the artist, as he prepares to retake the limelight with the official anthem for PSL season nine, set to commence on February 17.
