Ajay Devgn’s Mumbai house faces demolition action

Media reports claimed that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished a portion of the interior of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s Juhu house in Mumbai due to alleged unauthorized renovations.

The move came after the city council issued a stop-work notice on September 10, 2026, about alleged unauthorized changes at the 7,802-square-foot property in Juhu’s Kapole Co-operative Housing Society.

NDTV reported that the BMC stated that internal changes, partition walls, window adjustments, and other structural work were being done without the municipal license.

The notice, which was issued in accordance with Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, instructed that work be stopped immediately and that legitimate approvals be submitted.

Even so, it is said that the construction went forward in spite of the warning.

Mumbai Mirror was informed by a civic official, saying, “No permission had been granted by the department for the proposed salon or the interior work carried out at the premises. Hence, demolition action was taken two days ago.”

On September 10, 2026, the civic government sent out a notice instructing the owner or occupant to cease operations right away and provide the necessary permits. The notice, which was issued in accordance with Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, addressed purportedly illegal additions and modifications pertaining to Siporex blocks.

The report states that the design side requested four weeks to answer, but the civic body never heard back. According to officials, the interior construction proceeded without the required authorizations.

The actor’s 7,802-square-foot Juhu bungalow was to be converted for commercial use as a salon and spa, but there was a disagreement between the Devgns and the Kapole Co-operative Housing Society that led to the demolition.

According to reports, Florian Hurel Salons Pvt Ltd rented the premises for Rs 10.61 crore over five years, with monthly rent beginning at Rs 16 lakh. The organization claims that while its NOC permitted leasing, it did not authorize structural changes or commercial usage. Permissions, traffic, parking, and safety have all been brought up.

In order to confirm the clearances, the society contacted the BMC on September 8. Deputy Registrar Faiyaz Mulani told Mumbai Mirror that the office had no trace of an application pertaining to the property, despite the Devgn camp’s insistence that the required clearances had been secured. The most recent demolition activity was not addressed by Ajay Devgn’s team, according to the report.

The reports further added that Ajay Devgn’s team did not react to the most recent demolition-related news.
