QUETTA: Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Chief of the Tehrike Tahafuz Aien Pakistan and head of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), led a rally in Quetta advocating for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Addressing a large gathering, Achakzai emphasized the importance of upholding democratic principles and the rule of law in Pakistan.

“Democracy will prevail one day in the country,” Achakzai declared, criticizing the “engineered elections” that he claimed had been rejected by the public. He argued that political leaders should not be punished for their efforts to establish the rule of law and democracy. “All nationalities living in the country enjoy equal rights, and none would be allowed to usurp the rights of small nationalities,” he asserted.

Achakzai also called for a strong and stable Afghanistan, highlighting his party’s stance on regional peace and cooperation. He urged for an equitable distribution of resources and the supremacy of law and constitution, condemning those who interfere in political affairs and undermine democracy. “We stand for a democratic Pakistan”, he said. Achakzai urged upon all political parties of the country to set aside their differences and struggle for a democratic Pakistan.

The rally, marked by waving party flags and chanting supporters, took place under tight security measures. Achakzai’s speech resonated with the attendees, who expressed their support for his calls for justice and democratic governance. Other leaders of the party also addressed the public meeting.
