A new development has emerged in the horrifying double murder case that shook Balochistan’s Dagari area near Quetta. The post-mortem report of the victims, Bano Bibi and Ihsanullah, has now been made public, confirming that both were shot at close range in a brutal and calculated act of violence.

Speaking exclusively to Quetta Voice, Police Surgeon Dr. Ayesha Faiz revealed that Bano was struck by seven bullets, while Ihsanullah sustained nine gunshot wounds. She added that the autopsies were conducted following exhumation, ordered by a local court.

“The nature of the injuries and the close proximity of the shots clearly indicate this was a planned and ruthless murder,” said Dr. Ayesha.

Public Outrage and Legal Action

The incident has sparked widespread outrage across Balochistan and beyond, drawing strong reactions from civil society and human rights organizations. The Balochistan High Court and Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti have both taken notice of the case, calling for transparent and swift investigations.

Investigation Progress

Police sources confirm that 11 suspects, including a tribal elder, have been arrested so far. Law enforcement is actively pursuing further arrests, and there are discussions about transferring the case to an anti-terrorism court, given the gravity of the crime.

Background

The case came to light after reports circulated that a man and woman were allegedly murdered in the name of “honor” for attempting to marry against their family’s wishes. Viral footage of the aftermath sparked nationwide condemnation and renewed calls to ban illegal jirga systems in the province.

This case continues to highlight the urgent need for legal reforms and stronger protections against gender-based violence in Pakistan’s tribal and semi-tribal regions.
