A significant weather system is set to impact various parts of Pakistan, bringing heavy rains and thunderstorms to several regions. The rain will commence in Dadu today, with Karachi expected to experience rainfall starting tomorrow.
Southern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan are also likely to see increased precipitation in the coming days.
The recent weather has already taken a toll, especially in Punjab where, over the past 24 hours, 55 lives have been lost due to various incidents. Chakkwal recorded a staggering 450mm of rain, while Rawalpindi and Islamabad received 240mm, leading to flooding in rivers, streams, and low-lying areas. Many homes have been inundated as water entered residential areas.

In upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds are anticipated. Eastern and southeastern Balochistan, southern Punjab, and parts of Sindh may experience thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds during the evening and night hours.
