Environ protection forest safety top priorities of govt: Maryam – Pakistan Observer

Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has stated that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, environmental protection and forest conservation have been declared top priorities across the province.

Effective implementation of the government’s eco-friendly policies is underway to ensure environmental improvement.

A fire incident occurred near RD 30-32 of the Jhang Branch Canal.

However, due to the timely and professional response of the Forest Department, major damage was averted.

The fire was reportedly caused by the negligence of a passerby.

The Forest Department, Rescue 1122, and local residents jointly brought the fire under control.

Over 100 trained personnel and three rescue vehicles participated in the operation.

Only shrubs and small plants were affected, while trees and core wildlife remained safe.

Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb praised the Forest Department’s professionalism and swift response.

She added that the risk of wildfires increases during the summer season, and the public must adopt precautionary measures.

She further stated that the Forest Department’s response team is always alert, trained, and fully operational.
