Mengal insisting to stage sit-in at Red Zone: Balochistan spokesman

QUETTA: Balochistan government’s spokesman has said that the legal action has been started against the anti-government and anti-state speeches.

Government spokesman Shahid Rind has said that Sardar Akhtar Mengal insisting to stage protest sit-in at the red zone. “The government has offered him to contain his march to Shahwani stadium at Saryab Road”. “The government has other options, if he wouldn’t accept the offer,” he warned.

He further said that section 144 has been enforced, “In case of any violation the law will take its course”.

He said, Akhtar Mengal was demanding the release of arrested Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) leaders. “We won’t have any objection if courts provide them relief,” he added.

A rally and a long march from Wadh to Quetta led by Akhtar Mengal, protesting the arrests of Baloch Yakjehti Committee leaders and police crackdowns on sit-ins.

The provincial government remained in contact with BNP-M leadership since Friday night, ensuring the safety of the rally’s participants.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind earlier confirmed that the provincial administration was investigating the Mastung suicide blast incident and reiterated commitment to protecting the public and political leaders.
