Alex Carey signs up for PSL 10 player draft
Australian wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey has officially signed up for the player draft of the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.
The PSL announced Carey’s registration on Thursday, highlighting his inclusion as a significant addition to the league. Currently playing in Australia’s Test series against India, Carey has been a regular in Australia’s international cricket lineup.
The experienced wicketkeeper has played 35 Tests, 76 ODIs, and 38 T20Is for Australia, amassing 3,712 runs with two centuries and 19 half-centuries. While Carey has yet to feature in the PSL, he has previously played one season each in the Indian Premier League (IPL), England’s Vitality Blast, and Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL).
Carey is the ninth foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft, joining a star-studded lineup that includes Usman Khawaja, Tom Curran, David Willey, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, and Sikandar Raza.
For the first time, the PSL player draft will be hosted in Balochistan, with Gwadar set to stage the event on January 11, 2025.
The pick order has also been finalized. Lahore Qalandars, two-time champions, will make the first selection in the platinum category, followed by Karachi Kings. Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United will make subsequent picks in that order.
With Alex Carey and other international stars joining, PSL 10 promises to deliver thrilling cricketing action.
