LAHORE – Intermittent monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate eastern and upper parts of Pakistan. A trough of westerly wave prevails over northern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, monsoon rains are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan on Tuesday night. Heavy falls may occur in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahaudin, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore and Hafizabad.
On Wednesday, more intermittent monsoon rains are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Dera Ghazi Khan. Heavy falls may occur in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahaudin, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore and Hafizabad.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Wednesday and 34-36°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at a few places in northeast/south Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Attock, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sargodha remained the hottest places in Punjab where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Maximum temperature in Multan was recorded at 38°C.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 63 per cent.
