FIA arrests three human traffickers

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested three individuals allegedly engaged in human trafficking and visa fraud on Thursday.

Reportedly, the FIA stated that the arrested persons, namely Mehmood Ahmed, Amanullah, and Qasim Ali, were purportedly involved in visa fraud and human trafficking activities.

According to the FIA spokesperson, Mehmood Ahmed allegedly received Rs 2.5 million from an individual in exchange for facilitating the acquisition of an employment visa for Canada.

Additionally, Amanullah and Qasim Ali purportedly received Rs 900,000 for offering job opportunities and aid in securing employment in Iraq.

Efforts are currently underway to apprehend other associates associated with the aforementioned suspects.

Previously, the FIA had requested information on cases registered against government officials and politicians from zonal directors of FIA throughout Pakistan.

The Director General of FIA sent a letter to the zonal directors, requesting details on registered cases and ongoing investigations involving government officials and politicians nationwide.

The letter specifically seeks data regarding the number of cases involving government officials that the FIA is handling nationwide, as well as ongoing inquiries against politicians and government officers, along with their current positions.
