JUI-F, PTI reject election 2024 results
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have rejected the outcomes of the 2024 General Elections.
A PTI delegation led by Asad Qaiser, accompanied by members including Amir Dogar, Barrister Saif, Fazal Muhammad and Umair Niazi met with JUI-F chief Moulana Fazalur Rehman at his residence to convey the party’s founder’s message.
Sources familiar with the situation disclosed that both parties deliberated on the extensive rigging alleged in the recent General Elections.
Maulana Fazalur Rehman and the PTI delegation expressed serious reservations regarding the election results.
Following the meeting, representatives from JUI-F, Hafiz Hamdullah, and Barrister Saif from PTI addressed the media, stating that both parties concurred that the true mandate of the people was “usurped” on February 8.
Hafiz Hamdullah added, “Today, we reached a consensus that the elections lacked transparency. We will determine our next steps accordingly.”
Despite being political adversaries, the two parties seem to have found common ground in their mutual concern over alleged electoral malpractice and irregularities.
Earlier in the day, Asad Qaiser mentioned that after meeting with the party founder in jail, he had been tasked with establishing communication with political entities, including JUI-F, ANP, Aftab Sherpao’s party, and others.
On February 13, the PTI founder, during an informal discussion with the media in Adiala Jail, where he is detained in cases related to Toshakhana, Cipher, and an illicit nikah, categorically stated that his party would not engage in negotiations with PML-N, PPP, and MQM-P for government formation. However, he noted that he had instructed his party leaders to initiate discussions with other political parties.
