Fire breaks out in Islamabad’s Margalla hills – Pakistan Observer

ISLAMABAD – A huge fire erupted in the protected forest on Islamabad’s Maragalla Hills on Saturday.

Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) was spotted in flames as efforts are underway to extinguish the inferno.

Smoke was seen billowing from Margalla Hills in video captured by citizens, who expressed concerns about saving wildlife.

The exact details about the damage are not yet available till the filing of this report.

Fire incidents at Islamabad Margalla Hills increased as the region stretched between northern edge of Islamabad and south of KP saw several incident in the past – mostly triggered by tourists and locals.

The third-largest national park in the country covers an area of over 31,000 acres and is habitat of several animals.
