CHAMAN: Armed accused opened fire and killed a worker of the Awami National Party (ANP) in the Maizai Addah area of Killa Abdullah district on Wednesday afternoon.
Levies sources said another worker of the ANP sustained bullet wounds. The injured ANP worker was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
The dead worker was identified as Zahoor Ahmed and the injured worker was identified as Moeen Khan. They were engaged in elections campaign when attacked by armed accused.
The Attackers Escaped
The assailants sped away on their motorcycle after the attack. Levies reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
ANP issued a statement and expressed serious concern over the incident. The party demanded of the provincial government to ensure the security of its supporters and leaders.
