PTI changes candidates for two NA, nine PA seats in Karachi
LAHORE” The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has implemented significant modifications in its strategy for the upcoming General Elections in 2024 as the party has decided to replace candidates in two national and nine provincial constituencies in Karachi.
In NA-232 (Korangi-I), Adeel Ahmed has been nominated by the PTI, taking the place of Aleem Adil Sheikh, who is the brother of the party’s Sindh President, Haleem Adil Sheikh. Similarly, Abbas Hussain is now the PTI’s candidate for NA-247 (Central-I), replacing Tabish Taufeeq, who was initially announced for the constituency.
The PTI has also adjusted its lineup for eight provincial constituencies in Karachi. Ahsan Khattak will now be contesting from PS-89, Hammad Hussain from PS-91, Sajid Hussain from PS-92, and Bashir Sodher from PS-97. Additionally, Jahanzeb Ali will represent the PTI in PS-101, Imtiaz Ahmad in PS-123, Wajahat Siddiqui in PS-124, Sheeraz in PS-126, and Saqib Iqbal in PS-128.
It is noteworthy that all PTI candidates are now running as independents with different symbols following the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s verdict.
Earlier, the PTI had released a list of its 22 candidates for the National Assembly from Karachi. Wali Muhammad Mugheri, Dr. Masroor Sial, and Khalid Mehmood Ali will be contesting from NA-229 (Malir-I), NA-230 (Malir-II), and NA-231 (Malir-III), respectively. Aleem Adil Sheikh, Advocate Haris Meo, and Faheem Khan were announced for NA-232 (Korangi-I), NA-233 (Korangi-II), and NA-234 (Korangi-III), respectively. Aftab Jahangir, Attaullah Khan, and Malik Arif Awan received PTI tickets for NA-244 (West-I), NA-245 (West-II), and NA-246 (West-III), respectively.
